About The Position

The Operator has overall responsibility for their respective machine and its numbers, including but not limited to uptime/downtime, product scrap, output, and efficiency through exercising good manufacturing practices and identifying areas of opportunity for continuous improvement, all while maintaining all safety standards and expectations relating to their job and machine. This person must always act within food safety and GMP guidelines.

Requirements

  • Three years manufacturing experience as a maintenance or production leader/operator
  • Must be able to read precision measuring tools and read and interpret basic mechanical and pneumatics schematics.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office and accurate data entry.
  • Must understand how to analyze data and influence effective decision making.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Trades achieved training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment where safety, customer focus, effectiveness & efficiency can be seen in people and equipment performance.
  • Maximize equipment effectiveness and productivity and eliminate all machine losses.
  • Create a sense of ownership with equipment and team members through respect, involvement, and training.
  • Promote continuous improvement through small-group activities involving production, maintenance, engineering, 5S, inside and outside resources.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine issues as needed.
  • Mentor, coach, and lead other personnel on the machine to run effectively.
  • Train coworkers on proper operating techniques, knowledge, and practices
  • Oversee new hire training for respective machine.
  • Practice good housekeeping – including sweeping, dusting, wiping of tables, etc.
  • Actively participate in all required trainings including but not limited to safety and technical trainings.
  • Responsible for inspecting product at required frequency.
  • Responsible for packaging all goods produced.
  • Responsible for trimming and accuracy of all goods produced.
  • Responsible for data accuracy of all transactions performed.
