About The Position

The Machine/Filling Operator role at Behr is an excellent starting point for a career in manufacturing, even with no prior experience. The company provides comprehensive training, allowing operators to cross-train on multiple lines and assist wherever needed. Operators will be assigned to a production line daily, overseeing filling and case-packing. Responsibilities include identifying and addressing any issues with product or packaging, such as misprinted labels or improperly sealed cases. Operators will also periodically check the weight of filled cans to ensure equipment accuracy, perform changeovers between different paint types, maintain the supply of cases for the packing machine, and provide assistance to other team members as required.

Requirements

  • Excellent attendance.
  • Commitment to safety, including wearing proper safety equipment (steel-toed shoes required).
  • Physical ability to be on feet for the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift individual paint cans or full cases of 4 cans, weighing up to 50 pounds, several times a day.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or knowledge about paint or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee filling and case-packing on assigned production lines.
  • Identify and pull items with defects, such as misprinted labels or improperly sealed cases.
  • Periodically pull cans to weigh them and ensure filling equipment is working to weight parameters.
  • Perform changeovers between various paints.
  • Ensure the cardboard machine stays full of cases for packing.
  • Assist other team members as needed.

Benefits

  • Starting pay of $21.50/hr.
  • $0.50/hr increase at 6 months of employment.
