This role is responsible for operating various types of machinery, as needed, and as described by assigned leadership. The job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports. Responsibilities include setting up assigned equipment daily according to the production schedule and product specifications, and disassembling it for sanitation at the close of each day. The operator will monitor equipment operations, troubleshoot basic malfunctions, and notify supervision and maintenance staff of significant issues. Data recording, entry, and adjustment are required, as well as calibrating systems to time, temperature, and equipment positions. The role involves recording and interpreting temperatures related to the process, and using, reading, and recording measuring devices and product parameters. Daily monitoring of equipment and taking corrective measures to resolve issues is essential. The operator will work with maintenance staff to establish and implement preventative maintenance programs and best practice equipment operation methods. Notifying management or supervisory staff of unusual or out-of-spec operations is required. General housekeeping duties in the production area, maintaining a safe and clean work area in compliance with policy, and taking ownership and responsibility for equipment and machinery are also key. The role requires compliance with organization policies including safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules. This role has the responsibility to understand and implement appropriate safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment, and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
