About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Machine Operator in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The role operates forming machines to meet production standards for waste, efficiency, and utilization, while ensuring cartons meet specifications. The operator troubleshoots malfunctions, makes adjustments or repairs, performs quality checks and minor production repairs, completes changeovers and weekly maintenance, and follows required purge and lockout/tagout procedures. The position offers second- and third-shift schedules, with shift differentials.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read and understand safety protocols and equipment manuals written in English.

Nice To Haves

Some mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a zone of forming machines at or above standard levels for waste, efficiency, and utilization.
Troubleshoot causes of machine malfunctions.
Make adjustments or repairs to ensure carton quality meets specifications and machines operate properly.
Conduct regular quality checks and take corrective action to fix identified defects.
Perform minor repairs during production.
Perform changeovers.
Perform weekly machine maintenance.
Communicate with operators on previous and following shifts and with supervisors about machine problems experienced throughout the department.
Perform purge procedures when changing to a new product and complete required checklists.
Follow LOTO and alternative LOTO procedures.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
