About The Position

The Machine Operator works at Canfor’s Iron Mountain Sawmill in El Dorado, Arkansas, operating industrial machinery and contributing to safe, efficient mill operations. The role involves rotating among responsibilities within an assigned workspace and collaborating with a team to meet production goals while maintaining quality. This is described as a permanent, full-time position, Monday through Friday on the second shift. Hourly wages and bonus opportunities vary by position and shift.

Requirements

• Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods, including piling lumber, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work in an environment with exposure to environmental elements, moving mechanical equipment, loud noise, and dust.
• Demonstrate excellent teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
• Bring a high degree of urgency and attention to detail.
• Show a desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of experience in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through various job responsibilities and tasks within the assigned workspace on an hourly basis.
• Safely operate industrial machinery.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.
• Maintain a commitment to quality throughout the production process.
• Conduct routine machinery inspections for wear, damage, or malfunction and report findings to supervisors and maintenance for preventive action.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
