OH Machine Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
Western States Envelope and Label Company, with over 115 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Production Machine Operator to join their dynamic team. This role involves running envelope production machines in a climate-controlled factory in Walbridge, Ohio. Machine Operators are responsible for safely operating fast-running envelope machines, examining work orders for specifications, inspecting product quality using tools like a ruler, and packing envelopes neatly while keeping up with machine speeds. The company emphasizes customer focus, employee input, and continuous improvement, making it one of the largest envelope companies in the United States.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating a machine specifically in a production/manufacturing facility.
- Proven experience operating fast moving machines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
- Strong ruler reading skills

Nice To Haves
- Prior Manufacturing experience running a production machine is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the quality of the product being made by the machine they are assigned.
- Maintain adequate levels of adhesive and paper to ensure a continuous production cycle.
- Apply standardized inspection procedures to all envelopes produced.
- Maintain speeds set by the adjuster and supervisor for each job setup.
- Loads, unloads, and moves materials, tooling, and finished products within the plant.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Operates a hand truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.
- Removes, empties, and returns all paper waste bins making certain to deposit in correct recycling containers.
- Other duties as assigned.
