The Machine Operator fabricates steel, aluminum, and cast-metal components according to blueprint specifications and collaborates effectively with team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. This position promotes a safe, inclusive, and well-organized work environment by following all company policies, properly using PPE, performing 5S tasks, and completing daily equipment safety checks. The role involves setting up, operating, and performing routine maintenance on various machines—including the shear, Finn Power, Prima, horizontal press brakes/benders, and Trumpf Laser—using travel documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions. The operator will monitor job progress, perform quality checks using tape measures, calipers, and visual inspection, identify nonconforming parts, and troubleshoot machine or product issues. Additionally, the role requires identifying process-improvement opportunities and conducting root cause analysis to resolve production or quality concerns. The operator will prepare equipment for daily operation, ensure proper functioning of machinery, and communicate equipment issues or improvement suggestions to supervisors or team leads.
