About The Position

Machine Operator is responsible for performing tasks involved in the fabrication of copper tubing components according to router or work instructions. This role involves reading job specifications, utilizing tools, and ensuring production quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to utilize tape measure, decimal and fraction.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow routers (work instructions).
  • Ability to use basic handheld measuring tools.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a standing position throughout the shift.
  • High School Diploma/GED or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks involved in the fabrication of copper tubing components according to router or work instructions.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Read routers (work instructions), perform work, and complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize hand or power tools as required.
  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
  • Shift between workstations as production needs require.
  • Obtain and perform First Piece Validation for self and other operators.
  • Inspect production pieces at various intervals, up to 100% inspection as required, potentially utilizing Go/No Go gauges.
  • Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for machinery.
  • Perform basic machine repairs or corrections and clean machines daily.
  • Observe machine operation and inspect product appearance to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Detect and report defective materials, questionable conditions, or incorrect routers to the shift supervisor, engineering, or quality control.
  • Place scrap in the designated scrap bin.
  • Follow standard work methods to ensure production efficiency.
  • Practice safe work habits.
  • Maintain the work area and keep equipment in clean, orderly condition according to the 5S housekeeping system.
