Machine Operator (First Shift)
About The Position
The Centerless Grinder is responsible for setting up and operating one or more centerless grinding machines to grind external cylindrical or tapered surfaces of rotating metal, aluminum, or plastic workpieces to blueprint specifications. The role involves following instructions and applying knowledge of grinding procedures. Responsibilities include reading blueprints and job orders to understand product specifications; setting up, testing, and operating grinding machines; manufacturing quality parts in a timely manner; inspecting and measuring parts to ensure quality and completeness; identifying and reporting problems, seeking solutions and continuous improvements, and accurately completing paperwork. The position is on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Requirements
- Vocational education or an apprenticeship in an industrial environment.
- Prior manufacturing work experience.
- Experience using a manual micrometer.
- Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
- High standards of dependability, quality, and service.
- Enjoys working as part of a team.
