About The Position

The Packaging Machine Operator A (PMO A) operates assigned packaging equipment while meeting safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The operator inspects equipment settings for codes, dates, leaks, oxygen levels, and seals to ensure proper operation. The role includes starting up machines independently, assuring product quality, completing documentation, supporting coworkers and training, and performing basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance. Operators must complete machine-operator and safety training through the Continuous Skills Development Program. The work may involve standing for eight or more hours, repetitive physical movements, climbing stairs or platforms, and working in a noisy, wet, cold environment of approximately 34°F. The role may require working six or more consecutive days, overtime, any shift, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary. Requirements

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to stand for the duration of a shift (eight hours or more).
Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift, including pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, stooping, and bending.
Ability to climb stairs or step onto a platform several times during a shift.
Ability to work in a noisy, wet, and cold environment of approximately 34°F.
Ability to work six or more consecutive days, including overtime, any shift, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

Responsibilities

Operate assigned packaging machines efficiently.
Support on-the-floor training.
Work with packaging technicians to test new products.
Routinely solicit input and improve processes.
Assist other PMOs with their production lines.
Set up packaging machines and achieve 100% startup without guidance.
Ensure quality products are being produced.
Communicate with and direct team members, including packers.
Complete all required documentation.
Complete the Clean, Inspect, Lubricate process.
Participate in one-on-one reviews.
Perform maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
Pass machine-operator training classes in accordance with the Continuous Skills Development Program.
Work safely and follow basic safety rules to help prevent accidents.
Pass safety training provided by the Continuous Skills Development Program.
Inspect equipment settings for codes, dates, leaks, oxygen levels, and seals.
