About The Position

The General Utility Machine Operator performs a variety of duties involving grinding equipment, blending, and transferring final grind material to the Formax machine. The role may include working as a System Grinding Operator, Final Grinder Operator, or Frozen Operator. A minimum of one month of floor training is provided under close supervision by a Group Leader.

Able to lift; the minimum lifting requirement is not specified.
Complete a minimum of one month of closely supervised floor training with a Group Leader.

Responsibilities

Set up and inspect grinding equipment according to standard operating procedures and checklists.
Analyze raw-material samples for fat content using the Foodscan Fat Analyzer.
Ensure the defect eliminator is working properly and inspect defect material for foreign objects.
Operate the South Grinding platform control panel.
Use the correct frozen and fat recipes and maintain the specified frozen ratio and amount in the frozen blender.
Ensure blenders have enough raw materials to supply the forming lines.
Inject the correct amount of CO2 into the final mixer/grinder.
Record usage using information from combo labels.
Immediately report foreign objects to the supervisor.
Record rework materials and add them to the blender according to specification.
Manually check the temperature at final grind.
Load final grinder material into Formax tubs.
Wear required PPE, including cut-proof gloves when cutting boxes, and follow proper GMPs when unboxing frozen blocks and unwrapping plastic liners.
Keep the work area clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
