About The Position

Labconco Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of laboratory equipment, is seeking a Utility team member in its metal fabrication department. The position is responsible for setting up and operating drill presses, clinch presses, deburring and finishing equipment, and using hand and power tools. The operator produces parts, including rework and components for special and custom orders, to meet specifications.

Requirements

• Previous machine operation experience working with cold-rolled and stainless steel is preferred.
• Ability to understand product flow while maintaining production of quality products.
• Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively, professionally, and tactfully with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to be flexible and handle pressure and stressful situations professionally.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Previous machine operation experience working with cold-rolled and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate limited machinery in the metal fabrication shop without assistance.
• Apply knowledge of metal types and their relationship to fabrication processes.
• Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and other written instructions.
• Use measuring devices accurately in the metal fabrication shop.
• Produce parts, including rework and components for special and custom orders, that meet specifications.
• Use basic computer skills and software systems.
• Use good judgment when selecting tools, materials, and equipment for production operations.
• Help fellow employees identify and resolve problems.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by Management.
