About The Position

The Machine Operator performs mesh welding machine duties to support mesh welding processes across several plant areas. The role helps maintain production-line efficiency and meet production timelines. The operator follows safety and PPE requirements, uses only equipment for which they have been trained, and follows production plans and equipment procedures. The position also supports material organization, inventory control, quality checks, reporting, and efficient changeovers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is desirable but not required.
• Experience as a machine operator with PLC capabilities is preferred but not required.
• LOTO certification is desirable but not required; AmeriTex will provide LOTO certification after the Team Member joins the business.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and procedures, including assigned PPE requirements.
• Operate only equipment, machinery, and tools for which training has been completed.
• Follow the production and batch plan according to the daily plan.
• Set up materials according to the production schedule and support production flow.
• Follow LOTO and OSHA requirements and the equipment’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Program the PLC unit with production dimensions, quantities, and specifications.
• Perform quality-control inspections during production to ensure quality standards are met.
• Immediately communicate equipment failures or malfunctions to the maintenance team.
• Perform pre-production and post-production inspections to confirm equipment is safe and ready for operation.
• Complete production and scrap reports accurately during and after production.
• Follow the necessary steps for accurate and efficient changeovers.
• Maintain correct fluid levels when necessary to ensure proper lubrication and equipment function.
• Immediately report quality issues or deficiencies to the Department Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
• Organize materials and perform inventory-control tasks to support production flow during and after production.
• Perform other duties assigned by management to complete production and meet business needs.
