About The Position

The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. This role requires knowledge of production techniques to produce quality-building parts and adherence to all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment. The operator will also manage computerized equipment, material handling equipment, and perform routine preventive maintenance. Additionally, they will be responsible for marking parts, attaching identification tags, interpreting blueprints and technical data, selecting raw materials, and maintaining continuous improvement practices in their work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Experience with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment and nail guns
  • Able to use of measuring gauges
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
  • Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
  • Knowledge of production techniques and ability to produce quality-building parts
  • Know and understand all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
  • Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
  • Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area
