About The Position

Columbus Brick, a division of General Shale Brick, is seeking a Machine Operator for its manufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Dehacker is a highly automated machine consisting of large equipment with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components. The operator must remain focused and alert to their surroundings to help ensure safe and efficient operation.

Requirements

Ability to stay focused and alert to surroundings while operating machinery.
Working knowledge of control and monitoring devices, including photo cells, proximity switches, and pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
Ability to perform troubleshooting using fault-finding guides.
No lifting restrictions.

Responsibilities

Operate and troubleshoot strapping heads, including running a single head and changing out strapping heads.
Operate Dehacker operator panels and understand their functions.
Use product and size changeover modes.
Operate the unloading machine manually, including throwing away hacks, operating grippers separately, switching unloading tracks, and pushing the last car away.
Operate teach pendants for robotic unloading and handle normal problems.
Complete all required record-keeping tasks.
Use control and monitoring devices, including photo cells, proximity switches, and pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
Follow fault-finding and troubleshooting guides.
