About The Position

The Machine Operator position is responsible for operating machinery in a manufacturing environment. This role involves participating in a culture of safety, operating machines according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), monitoring machine performance and product quality, and performing routine maintenance and adjustments. The operator will also be responsible for ensuring all duties are performed safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean work area, and producing high-quality parts according to manufacturing targets.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to pass a Drug Test
  • The acceptable outcome of a Background Check
  • Successfully complete a Pre-employment Physical
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • 1 (One) Year of Manufacturing Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Luxfer's culture of safety by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) as described.
  • Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down machines safely without supervision according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the work center.
  • Load unfinished parts into machines and remove finished parts safely.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
  • Check part quality using designated measurement instruments; understand when and how to stop the machine safely if issues arise.
  • Perform routine set-up, periodic checks, and minor troubleshooting as required.
  • Operate sanding tools and additional equipment to support the manufacturing process.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machines to optimize performance and improve results.
  • Produce high-quality parts according to manufacturing targets, schedules, and specifications.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring that all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
