About The Position

The Machine Operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
Capable of using hand tools and general inspection tools effectively
Detail oriented with good time management and organization skills
Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
Good attitude, eager to learn and be a team player
Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40-50lbs

Nice To Haves

Experience in manufacturing and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) highly desired
Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred

Responsibilities

Maintains a safe work environment by following standards and procedures
Operate various machines within the cell
Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
Performs basic daily and preventative maintenance and checks on machines
Meets daily production schedules by following procedures
Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in work instructions.
Takes ownership and responsibility for quality of work
All other duties as assigned
