About The Position

Milliken & Company is a global manufacturing leader focused on materials science. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating a set of raschel knitting machines, a knit roll weigh station, and driving a propane forklift. This role ensures excellent quality by patrolling machines, repairing yarn breaks, and documenting production, quality, and safety. The position requires regular and predictable attendance and adherence to all safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Lift 25lbs
  • Push 250lbs roll of fabric on cart
  • Pull 50lbs
  • Work (3) 12 hour shifts with extensive standing and walking
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability – adapts to changes in the work environment
  • Attention to detail – thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task ensuring all aspects are reviewed
  • Ability to identify and classify defects
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Textile knitting experience

Responsibilities

  • Operates a set of raschel knitting machines.
  • Patrols machines to ensure excellent quality.
  • Repairs yarn breaks.
  • Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety rules and procedures.
  • Responsible for documenting production, quality, and safety.
  • Takes sample cuts as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
  • Ability to drive propane forklift.
