About The Position

The Machine Operator works on the production team at Medeco Security Locks in Salem, Virginia, operating machinery and producing components for high-security locks and keys. The role includes CNC machine operation, assembly, and secondary machining, with an emphasis on precision, quality, productivity, and customer expectations. The operator collaborates with peers and the supervisor to coordinate production schedules, improve team performance, address challenges, and support workplace safety and organization. This is a full-time, on-site, second-shift position reporting to the Production Manager. The hourly pay range is $21.71–$27.00, depending on experience, skill level, and other qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and an interest or ability in mathematics and technology.
• Ability to understand, operate, and troubleshoot machinery.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and move around a manufacturing production floor.
• Team-oriented approach and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate CNC machinery to produce components for high-security locks and keys.
• Perform assembly and secondary machining work.
• Collaborate with peers and the supervisor to coordinate production schedules and improve productivity and efficiency.
• Meet quality and punctuality standards and work to exceed customer expectations.
• Participate in team efforts to improve performance, address challenges, and promote workplace safety and organization.
• Meet or exceed performance benchmarks.
• Work overtime during peak production periods when needed.
• Follow company standards, policies, and procedures.
