About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining quality and production standards while operating equipment. This role involves general cleaning of operational equipment, possessing knowledge of the entire production line, and performing tasks such as stacking and un-stacking cases, packing boxes, and inspecting bottles and cases. The operator must be able to communicate and understand numerous product changes, boxes, and labels, and complete necessary paperwork. Additionally, the role includes Quality at the Source testing, ensuring compliance with corporate standards for food safety, quality, and facility cleanliness, and performing other assigned duties. Food safety is a critical aspect, requiring the production of contamination-free product, adherence to SQF, Security, and GMP policies, reporting suspicious activities, and continuous inspection of the work area for potential contamination issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent; or up to one month to three-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Team Members of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality and production standards while operating equipment
  • General cleaning of operational equipment (labeler brushes, packer air bags, infeed rails, spills, etc.)
  • Possess overall knowledge and understanding of the entire production line
  • Ability to stack and un-stack cases; pack boxes
  • Ability to inspect bottles and cases
  • Ability to communicate and understand numerous product changes, boxes, labels, etc.
  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork
  • Quality at the Source testing, where applicable to operations
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
  • Producing product free of contamination
  • Following all Ken’s Foods SQF, Security and GMP policies
  • Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
