About The Position

Poly-Nova Technologies is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for the Day Shift. Machine Operators are crucial for maintaining safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the company. This role involves operating injection molding machines and presses, inspecting parts for quality, completing paperwork, and packaging finished products. The company, established in 1996 and part of Starlim Sterner since 2011, specializes in rubber products for the automotive and power transmission industries and holds IATF16949, ISO 450001, and ISO 14001 certifications. Requirements

  • High school (Secondary School) diploma
  • 1+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with SOPs and EH&S standards.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, policies, memos, and quality alerts.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent to operate press equipment: automated and manual
  • General mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to wear required PPE
  • Ability to lift 15–35 lbs (full cases of product and insert trays).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with opportunities to sit during inspection tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Load press/machine with correct rubber
  • Operate injection molding machines and presses
  • Closely inspect parts within cycle time by following quality inspection instructions and alerts, removing flash
  • Complete shift paperwork: machine logs, scrap sheets, production reports, etc
  • Package finished parts as per required quantity; label and prepare for shipping, place on skid
  • Notify Supervisor or Lead Hand of any unusual amounts of scrap, including new/unusual defects
  • Maintain traceability and identification of parts by confirming correct labels are placed on boxes
  • Ensure fabric is pulled and sprues are inspected for mold foul, or other rubber related issues
  • Maintain accurate records related to the activity of the shift
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communication of any issues during shift overlap to incoming Machine Operator
  • General housekeeping: sweeping area, removing build-up of rubber and parts spillage in work area
