YOU As a Machine Operator you are responsible for operating the assigned machinery, ensuring it runs smoothly, works at capacity without issue, and is appropriately maintained to ensure quality products. You will be responsible for collaborating to ensure all raw materials and components are available to meet production plans and ensure all customer demands are met with a focus on quality and safety practices. This position works Monday through Thursday 5:00am – 3:30pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
  • 2 years of related manufacturing experience or training is preferred
  • Math and Measurements: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents. Read calipers and setup sheets (hyphens replaced with colons in this section).
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Elimination of Waste, Continuous Improvement, 6S, Kaizen & Kanban.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and avoid interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Speaking: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables encountered during the manufacturing process.
  • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking: Ability to identify options for solving a problem encountered during the manufacturing process. The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Responsibilities

  • Observe production, perform quality checks every 10-15 min. and record critical dimensions on production reports. (50%)
  • Keep track of production output on production boards at machines and poundage consumed (20%)
  • Observe the flow of nail production and highlight problems to supervisor/setter immediately. (15%)
  • Move completed parts to next staging area (10%)
  • Clean machine at the end of production run and prep for next work order. (5%)
