AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings. Are you passionate about machining? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our machine shop function. As a machine operator, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints and use callipers, micrometres, go no-go gauges, etc.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
  • Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints or brazing specification.
  • Operate brazing equipment to join metal components according to production specifications and safety standards.
  • Run and monitor pre‑set brazing machines to bond metal parts or fill holes, indentations, and seams using solder or brazing materials.
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and continuously monitor the brazing production line to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Operate previously setup brazing machines to bond metal parts or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal articles with solder.
  • Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor brazing production line.
  • Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, target plans and verify correct run quantities.
  • Visually inspect parts after each machine cycle and perform inspections as required.
  • May adjust brazing heads and tooling in according to work specifications.
  • Optimize the running of parts to best take advantage of the machine’s operating time.
  • Filling out production boards with output for the shift, as well as assisting in planning the afternoon shift production.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and follow organizational practices.
  • Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
