About The Position

The Machine Operator works at BOSS Snowplow in Iron Mountain, Michigan, operating equipment to process steel plate, sheet, and structural shapes, as well as copper bus. The role includes maintaining and cleaning machines and conducting inspections in accordance with the employer’s Quality System.

This is a second-shift position scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; overtime may cause hours to vary. The starting wage is $19.91 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential, for a total of $20.91 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to use measuring tools and devices.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational training or previous experience in a machine operating setting.

Responsibilities

• Shear, saw, laser cut, plasma cut, bend, roll, drill, tap, punch, cope, wire brush, de-burr, and grind steel plate, sheet, and structural shapes as required.
• Form, cut, bend, punch, and drill copper bus as required.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning on each machine as required.
• Perform first-article and other piece-part inspections as required by the Quality System.
