Machine Operator
About The Position
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment used in the manufacturing of industrial filtration products and components. This position supports the production process by ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently while producing materials and components that meet established quality standards and production requirements. Machine Operators may be assigned to various types of manufacturing equipment, including laser cutting machines, gasket machines, JCEM pleating machines, and metal shearing equipment. Employees are expected to develop their technical skills, learn multiple manufacturing processes, and demonstrate flexibility in supporting production needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, math, and measurement skills.
- Ability to follow work instructions, identify quality issues, and make basic machine adjustments.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned manufacturing equipment, including laser cutting, gasket, JCEM pleating, metal shearing, and other production machinery.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor machines to ensure efficient operation and consistent product quality.
- Load and unload materials, following production orders, work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Inspect products, perform quality checks, and report defects or material inconsistencies.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately while meeting established production targets.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, cleaning, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting as trained and authorized.
- Collaborate with Process Technicians, Maintenance, Quality, and Supervisors to resolve production issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and perform other duties as assigned.
