About The Position

Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) is seeking Machine Operators to join its team. The Slitter takes master label rolls from the Rewind Feeder and converts them into specific customer-order rolls ready for shipping. Experience is not required, but is a bonus. Day and night shifts are available, following a continuously repeating 2-2-3 rotating schedule.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions, including using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the position's physical demands, including frequent walking and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Set up the rewind machine to cut and rewind specific counts according to customer orders.
• Run orders, complete core labels to identify orders, and stack orders on carts.
• Keep orders separated by size, city, UPC, or plant number.
• Check rolls for misprinting while running and report errors to the pressman and supervisor.
• Cut out bad labels on rolls and splice rolls.
• Direct errors to the rework area.
• Rotate through the rework area to rework bad rolls.
• Clean the rewind machine or turret machine as needed.
• Operate the turret machine.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
