About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating a set of raschel knitting machines.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Lift 25lbs
  • Push 250lbs roll of fabric on cart
  • Pull 50lbs
  • Work (3) 12 hour shifts with extensive standing and walking
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability – adapts to changes in the work environment
  • Attention to detail – thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task ensuring all aspects are reviewed
  • Ability to identify and classify defects
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Textile knitting experience

Responsibilities

  • Place rolls of split fabric on the scale to verify weight and generate packing labels to be placed on knit rolls.
  • Place plastic bags on rolls to prepare them for shipping.
  • Use an electric peg lift to move rolls into designated storage bins.
  • Notify the immediate supervisor of any identified knit roll weight issues.
  • Use an electric hoist to lift knit rolls onto the perch stand.
  • Push a 150-lb. cart to the workstation.
  • Set up and thread fabric through the perch station.
  • Monitor fabric quality to ensure established quality standards are met.
  • Notify the immediate supervisor of any quality issues.
  • Document production quality on the appropriate worksheet.
  • Maintain a clean work area and observe all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
