About The Position

Rust-Oleum Corporation is a worldwide leader in protective paints and coatings for home and industry. The Machine Operator packages paint and related products by operating, setting up, adjusting, and performing quality-control checks on machines and hand-fill processes. The work is performed safely, consistently, and efficiently according to specifications. This is a non-exempt position.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to read and fully understand batch cards and instructions and communicate directions to other associates.
Basic math ability.
Ability to read and understand meters, scales, and electronic readouts.
Ability to enter computer data.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to coordinate the work of others.
Ability to solve problems in a team environment.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

CNC operations experience is preferred.
Industrial experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Inspect products for quality, packaging accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
Change over, adjust, and otherwise optimize equipment to improve performance and product quality.
Set and adjust equipment speed, temperature, product flow, positions, and tolerances.
Review job orders for quantities, production times, stock specifications, bills of materials, and SKU sequences.
Monitor filling equipment, maintain specified operating levels, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments as needed.
Operate equipment at an efficient speed while maintaining quality and output.
Take responsibility for equipment performance, efficient changeovers, operation, and preventive maintenance.
Communicate information to supervisors and coworkers in writing or in person.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
Follow operating procedures and department-specific quality-control processes and procedures.
Treat people with dignity and respect and conduct business with integrity.
Adhere to company quality principles and participate in departmental and company-wide quality activities.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
