About The Position

The Hone Technician / Machine Operator is an entry-level role in a shop environment supporting the repair and remanufacture of hydraulic cylinders, units, and components. Hydraulic experience is not required; the employer is willing to train a dependable candidate who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and learning how equipment works. The position is located in Puyallup, Washington, and works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay is $21.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical skills or an interest in mechanical work.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn and be trained.
• Dependable and able to work as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb a ladder as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help disassemble and inspect hydraulic cylinders.
• Operate honing equipment and other shop machinery.
• Use basic hand and power tools.
• Learn to use precision measuring tools.
• Clean and prepare cylinder components for repair.
• Safely rig and move large cylinder parts.
• Learn to identify worn or damaged components.
• Assist with documenting parts and repair information.
• Operate a forklift after completing company-provided training.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Perform other shop duties as needed.
