About The Position

Dover Precision Components (DPC) is seeking a Machine Operator for its 2nd shift. This role involves setting up and operating an automated saw to cut metal material according to job orders and supporting material handling within the department. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience.
  • Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to perform the job.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans.
  • 1-3 Years in a manufacturing environment
  • Machine shop experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer operations (Windows)

Responsibilities

  • Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
  • Sets up and operates cutting equipment as required.
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates tools and other equipment as necessary.
  • Performs inspection work, including final inspection.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
