About The Position

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are 3pm-11:30pm. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive. Based in Eden Prairie, MN the actual title of position will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Heat Treating Technician. Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels: Level C: Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of heat treating experience. You will be expected to learn and grow in your role, with guidance from senior team members. Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork. Level B: Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating. You should have a proven track record in heat treating, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork. Level A: Senior-Level: 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating. You will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make strategic contributions to the department. Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.

Requirements

This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

0 to 24 months of heat treating experience (for Level C)
2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating (for Level B)
3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating (for Level A)

Responsibilities

Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
