About The Position

The Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production. This role operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications, potentially including roll-formers, grinders, and band saws. The operator is responsible for producing the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances, measuring finished parts with precision tools to ensure compliance, and maintaining logs of units produced and errors. The position also involves inspecting and performing basic maintenance on equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and completing required training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience moving heavy materials around an active job site or manufacturing shop.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs (blueprints), shop drawings, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Full dexterity of hands and arms.
  • Ability to see objects close and far away.
  • Ability to focus on specific sounds associated with tasks.
  • Must be fit for duty at all times and not report to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance.
  • Must not be found to be possessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performing any Company task.
  • Adhere to the company’s safety policy and use all required Personal Protective Equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Attends and/or completes welder and safety training as required by management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
