About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery to meet production standards, performing inspections, and ensuring quality and safety. This role requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with inspection equipment and basic math skills. The operator must also be computer literate and capable of performing daily tasks according to work instructions and standard procedures, including 5S activities and TPM.

Requirements

• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to use basic inspection equipment such as calipers, mics, torque wrenches and various gauges and other tools.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must have good understanding of inventory control.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have or be able to obtain a fork truck license.
• Must recognize the importance of working in a safe manner.
• Ability to understand what constitutes quality products.
• Possess basic math skills.
• Average or above average skills in numeric and visual recall.
• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in sometimes extreme temperatures.
• Able to communicate effectively, participate as a member of a team and work well with others to maximize efficiency.
• Familiar with company policies and demonstrates knowledge of relevant procedures and importance of producing quality products.
• Follows general and equipment specific safety rules. Uses appropriate safety protection equipment and other safety devices.
• Positive to change associated with TBS efforts.

Nice To Haves

• Machining experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts as necessary to meet production standards.
• Perform source inspection using traveling check sheet on every unit.
• Perform daily TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
• Use stop the line authority at any sign of safety or quality concerns.
• Perform daily duties per work instructions / standard work.
• Complete all daily data collection as established.
• Perform daily 5S activities.
