About The Position

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE), a joint venture of Worthington and Armstrong World Industries, is a worldwide leader in the production of suspended ceiling systems, specifically metal ceiling grids. Founded in 1992, WAVE operates under a philosophy rooted in the Golden Rule, fostering a strong employee-employer partnership. WAVE is currently seeking a night shift Machine (CNC) Operator to join their team. The shift hours are from 9pm to 5am.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area
Background check required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience of machinery in a manufacturing environment or similar.
Experience with LEAN manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Support production of custom aluminum extrusions by cutting material according to specifications from blueprints/technical drawings.
Understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Set up equipment and lay out fabrication projects from blueprints/technical drawings.
Cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
Join material using adhesive and clamps.
Measure components and finished projects using a variety of measuring devices to ensure correct dimensions within required tolerances.
Complete roll tooling changeovers using hand tools.
Maintain equipment, supplies, and machinery safely.
Troubleshoot machinery, material, saw, measuring equipment, and tooling, making necessary adjustments.
Visually inspect extrusions and check against blueprints/technical drawings, reporting defects.
Participate in continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing activities.
Be flexible and adaptable to assignment changes, assisting where needed and learning new tasks.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform all work in a safe manner, using proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
