About The Position
Duraco Specialty Materials is hiring a second-shift Machine Operator in Forest Park, Illinois. The operator sets up, adjusts, and runs production equipment after training to manufacture specialty materials. Equipment may include slitters, laminators, coaters, presses, compactors, and material-handling equipment. The role involves monitoring quality against measuring devices and job specifications, calculating production rates, yields, and quantities, troubleshooting production issues, and using computer systems for data collection, label generation, and production information. The operator also helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace and participates in safety initiatives, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts. The position pays $21 per hour plus a shift differential.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong hands-on work ethic.
- Ability to read measurements and use measuring tools accurately.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Comfort with physical work, including standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Teamwork, strong communication skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
