About The Position

Techmer PM is seeking a Machine Operator for its Dalton, Georgia facility. The role operates key manufacturing equipment to produce plastic compounds for specialized customer applications. The operator follows standard operating procedures to work safely and protect coworkers and the facility, and contributes to process measurement, control, and improvement. The role requires learning key operating parameters to ensure that products meet specifications and quality standards before delivery to customers. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Initial training takes place on the current rotating shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Thursday. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus a shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 55 pounds frequently.
Ability to learn the functionality of plant equipment.
Strong communication skills.
Basic knowledge of operating an extruder or mixing equipment.
General mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot problems.

Nice To Haves

Two years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
Extrusion experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Operate key manufacturing equipment to produce plastic compounds for specialized customer applications.
Follow standard operating procedures and work safely to protect self, coworkers, and the facility.
Participate in process measurement, control, and improvement for assigned tasks.
Learn and follow operating parameters to produce in-specification, high-quality products.
Learn preproduction and postproduction equipment and operations, including drying, bagging, and grinding.
Troubleshoot equipment or process problems.
