About The Position

A Machine Operator operates and maintains machinery, applies an understanding of production processes, and supports safe, high-quality production. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining machines to ensure products are made efficiently and accurately.

The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, starting at 3:30 p.m. and continuing until completion, and Thursday through Friday, starting at 3:00 p.m. and continuing until completion. Shifts may range from 8 to 14 hours. Hours worked over 40 in a week are paid at time and a half.

Requirements

• Knowledge of machine operation and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift heavy materials weighing more than 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines according to specifications and instructions.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain optimal performance.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and report defects or issues with machinery or products.
• Perform routine daily quality checks.
• Report machine malfunctions and issues to the supervisor.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machines.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are in place and functioning correctly.
• Participate in safety training and contribute to a workplace safety culture.
• Maintain accurate records of production quantities.
• Communicate production issues or concerns to supervisors and management.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions.
• Assist in training new machine operators.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist with bi-annual plant inventories.
• Keep equipment clean and maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
