About The Position

McCLARIN Composites is seeking experienced Machine Operators to join their team. The role involves operating various machinery such as Robot Trimmers, Thermoformers, RIM, Robot Surface Preparation, or 5-Axis CNC Routers. The Machine Operator will collaborate with the scheduler and supervisor to meet daily production quotas, inspect finished products for quality, and monitor equipment, reporting any inefficiencies to maintenance. The company focuses on manufacturing composites for innovative and efficient buses, trucks, trains, RVs, construction, and farm equipment, with a commitment to decarbonization and a circular economy.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience with forklift operation preferred or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to read and understand standard work instructions.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours with occasional breaks.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs unassisted and 70 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to read blueprints, decimals, and fractions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and instruct team members.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Experience operating 5-Axis CNC routers, Thermoformers or Manufacturing Robots.
  • Experience with Thermoforming, RIM, Trimmer, CNC operation or general machine operation.

Responsibilities

  • Operating various machinery including Robot Trimmer, Thermoformer, RIM, Robot Surface Preparation or 5-Axis CNC Router.
  • Working with the scheduler and supervisor or manager to ensure daily production quotas are made.
  • Inspecting the finished product for quality compliance.
  • Monitoring the operation of the equipment and notifying maintenance of any inefficiency or concern.
  • Working with an Assistant Operator to complete job duties.
  • Procuring and completing MOs, Quality Checklists, and any other job-specific paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Auditing any materials lists for accuracy and proper material staging.
  • Operating CNC production equipment with a focus on safe operation.
  • Performing minor adjustments to tooling and repairs of mechanical systems with basic hand tools.
  • Loading/removing product to/from production workspaces.
  • Assisting with or setting up and tearing down machine tooling per job specifications.
  • Inspecting product between operations, completing any associated forms/checklists.
  • Deburring and preparing product for next operation or workstation.
  • Cutting scrap product for recycling or grinding using electric cutting equipment.
  • Feeding scrap product into grinders.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment wearing all PPE in accordance with policies and procedure.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.
