About The Position

The Machine Operator is primarily responsible for setting up a machine with a master roll of vinyl and a master roll of board or paper, and then running them together onto one roll. This role involves maintaining a clean and orderly work area, ensuring a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents while maintaining quality standards. The operator will load master rolls of vinyl and liner onto the laminator, align them for lamination, and record job details into the computer for inventory management. Responsibilities also include identifying and reporting poor quality material or equipment needing repair to the supervisor or Quality Control, and being willing to assist in other departments with miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experience
  • Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be able to keep up with production standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
  • Must possess good problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers and other departments
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to work as team member or independently
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to lift up to 50#’s
  • Must be able to read a micrometer
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents, while maintaining quality standards.
  • Loads master rolls of vinyl and liner on laminator and align vinyl and liner to be laminated.
  • Responsible for recording jobs into computer with correct usage to maintain inventory
  • Identifies poor quality material and notifies the supervisor and/or Quality Control
  • Identify equipment needing repair and notify supervisor/team lead
  • Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned
