About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for the effective and consistent running of their assigned production line, working to achieve production targets through effective interaction with the processes. This role requires a good understanding of the machinery to ensure desired results in terms of Quality, Safety, Hygiene, and Waste. The operator must understand the assigned machines, process, and products, paying attention to detail and operating within required parameters. The role involves ensuring machines are clean, organized, and operating under discipline, following standard operating procedures, and having basic ice cream knowledge. Effective handovers with Maintenance and the next shift, reporting all faults and issues, are crucial. The operator will drive the production process to meet customer specifications, quality, and food safety standards, ensuring production meets targeted outputs. Effective communication with the entire team, ensuring health and safety requirements are met, and promoting a positive safety culture are key. The role also involves coordinating local work team's day-to-day efforts, managing breaks, lunches, and rotations, and representing the company's way of working through its behaviors and core values. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • One-year related experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machines are clean, organized, and operating under discipline.
  • Operate to standard operating procedures.
  • Have basic ice cream knowledge, understanding the "WHY", not just the HOW.
  • Use limited water when cleaning with the "clean as you go" principle.
  • Ensure correct use, storage, and set up of all equipment.
  • Ensure effective hand over with Maintenance and next shift, reporting all faults and issues.
  • Drive the production process to ensure products meet customer specification, quality, and food safety.
  • Ensure production meets targeted outputs through effective control of the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate effectively with the entire team.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained.
  • Walk the talk always using the looking eyes, attend to the issues as and when they happen.
  • Promote the company culture of employees being owners rather than just employees.
  • Follow the principle of "will I do this to my home?"
  • Coordinate local work team's day to day efforts - controlling breaks, lunches and rotations.
  • Represent The Froneri Way of working through the behaviors and characteristics in our Operating Model and Core Values.
  • De-kitting the line and making sure all packaging is returned to the warehouse.
  • Ensuring line is checked after being cleaned and all tools are stored in the correct places.
  • No stagnant water left in any equipment.
