About The Position

This role involves performing daily functions as explained and demonstrated by a lead man/supervisor within allocated timeframes and company standards. The Machine Operator will support the assembly floor by performing typical machine shop and mold press operations. Key responsibilities include detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions, performing prescribed preventative maintenance on machines, and executing tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations. The operator must be able to observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals, possess a basic understanding of machine functions, and be willing to accept frequent supervision and assistance with machine set-up. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to all safety standards and company policies, including mandatory safety training, are also crucial. The role requires being a productive, proactive, and contributing team member in a fast-paced environment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations and inspect.
  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, and squat, for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A good attitude and common sense required.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions/directions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Must be able to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, respirators, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience.

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations and inspect.
  • Observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Comply with all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Be a productive, proactive, and contributing team member in a fast paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company policies including attending mandatory safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
