About The Position

Blommer is seeking motivated and reliable associates to join their mission of Bringing Chocolate to Life! As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to produce high-quality chocolate and cocoa products. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work collaboratively on the plant floor. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to set up, adjust and operate machinery.
  • Able to observe and detect issues with product color and fineness.
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
  • Occasionally move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly operate within a manufacturing product environment - daily exposure to noise, dust and variation in temperature (hot/cold).
  • Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environment.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sources.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards.
  • Adhere to FDA HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturers.
  • Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Input required documentation of product specifications and quality into the system.
  • Adjust machines as needed to minimize inaccuracies, defects, or waste.
  • Deliver regular sample tests to laboratory to confirm accurate recipe specifications, measuring items such as fineness, color and consistency.
  • Report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the Supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Ensure critical control point compliance documenting US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; report any non-conformities.
  • Rotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be needed.
  • Collaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout production cycle.
  • Pick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (maintaining clean work areas, etc.).
  • Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for others.
