About The Position

Montana Precision Products (MPP) is at the forefront of manufacturing excellence, specializing in producing complex and high-precision components for the aerospace and industrial sectors. At MPP, you'll be part of a team that uses state-of-the-art technology to create components that power some of the most recognizable aircraft in the world, including the Boeing 737 MAX, the Airbus A320neo, and other commercial aircraft. Job Summary: Operate induction melt furnaces in both open air pour deck and in vacuum chambers. Operates associated equipment to support production throughput and operations schedule including preheat/burnout furnaces, ingot cutoff saws, material handling cranes, carts, and other devices. The position will require performance of operator maintenance and an ability to understand induction melting and vacuum systems functionality as well as mold heating and other supporting equipment function, operation, and operator maintenance. The candidate will follow all applicable safety, quality, and operations procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply operating procedures, drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards
  • Ability to understand equipment function and control logic
  • Ability to understand and utilize standard process measurement, instrumentation, and controls
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb stairs
  • Follows instructions and records accurate information daily
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. Montana Precision Products will require proof of status prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads travelers and records data in ERP system and melt logs
  • Weighs, prepares, and charges metal into furnace
  • Operates induction melt furnaces on pour deck and in vacuum chambers
  • Loads and unloads shells/molds from preheat/burnout furnaces
  • Uses lifting devices, carts, forklifts, and other material handling devices to move product and materials
  • Perform operator maintenance as required
  • Observes process variables and equipment performance, operates and adjusts controls to maintain process requirements
  • May need to assist with preparation and inspection of molds from autoclave, applying insulation and patch coatings as needed.
  • Adheres to schedule to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Keeps work area clean and free from debris.
  • Follows additional instructions and performs other duties as assigned.
