About The Position

This position operates and maintains various types of equipment, including material-handling and coffee-flavoring equipment. Employees exercise independent judgment and make decisions concerning mechanical and product-quality aspects of machinery and products. The role includes using computer programs for data entry, machinery operations, and product-quality tasks.

The Machine Operator II operates retail and/or SSB lines and multiple packing lines, or a combination of packing and processing lines. The role includes making machine adjustments and repairs; conducting, recording, and ensuring quality checks; maintaining and troubleshooting packaging lines; and following work-order schedules, coffee-blending matrices, coffee transports, and company protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 1–2 years of machine operator experience.
• Knowledge of tools, machines, and safety precautions in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for data entry on process monitors, quality specifications, and work-order capacities.

Responsibilities

• Operate retail and/or SSB lines.
• Operate multiple packing lines or a combination of packing and processing lines.
• Make machine adjustments or repairs, including opening valves, changing formers and sealing-jaw knives, setting guides and temperature controls, and adjusting nitrogen/oxygen fill ratios.
• Inspect and record quality checks using computer-based systems, and align machine packaging output with order-specific quality specifications.
• Perform necessary quality checks to ensure quality standards are met.
• Lubricate and sanitize packaging lines, troubleshoot issues, make minor mechanical adjustments, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Follow work-order schedules, coffee-blending matrices, coffee transports, and company protocols.
