About The Position

The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating basic woodworking machinery to produce wood components according to established production specifications. This entry-level role focuses on safe machine operation, quality inspection, and the development of foundational manufacturing skills under supervision.

Requirements

Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operations.
Ability to follow instructions, work orders, and safety guidelines.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
Basic communication skills to report issues and receive direction.

Responsibilities

Operate basic woodworking machinery in accordance with safety, quality, and production standards.
Run assigned machines such as off-bearers, time savers, sanders, chop saws, and hand sanders.
Inspect materials and finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality requirements.
Make routine machine adjustments to maintain proper operation and production flow.
Follow work orders, drawings, and instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately.
Load and unload materials and parts as required for machine operation.
Identify defects or issues and report concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
