About The Position

This position involves the forming and stamping of diaphragms. The Machine Operator I will be responsible for verifying die sets, pulling correct materials, operating presses, identifying and marking defective parts, and inspecting finished products for defects.

Requirements

Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to read and interpret part specifications on travelers.
Detail-oriented.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Verify the die set is the correct size and designation based on the part number of the traveler.
Pull the correct material from the stockroom based on the part number from the traveler and record the heat code on the traveler.
Actuate the press manually and hold for the appropriate length of time according to the material thickness and die size.
Identify bad parts and cross them out.
Pull the appropriate strip from the storage rack and feed it into the stamper manually.
Inspect the diaphragms or end plates periodically to ensure that there are no burrs or other defects.
Place completed job parts in a container, mark with the appropriate part number, and move to the cleaning department with the traveler.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
