About The Position

This role involves the forming and stamping of diaphragms. The forming operator verifies die sets, pulls correct materials, records heat codes, actuates presses manually, and identifies bad parts. The stamping operator feeds strips into the stamper, inspects for defects, and ensures proper labeling and movement of completed parts to the cleaning department. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Perform basic arithmetic.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Read and interpret part specifications on travelers.
Detail-oriented.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Must frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.

Responsibilities

Verify the die set is the correct size and designation based on the part number of the traveler.
Pull the correct material from the stockroom based on the part number from the traveler.
Record the heat code on the traveler.
Actuate the press manually and hold for the appropriate length of time according to the material thickness and die size.
Identify bad parts and cross them out.
Pull the appropriate strip from the storage rack and feed it into the Stamper manually.
Inspect the diaphragms or end plates periodically to ensure that there are no burrs or other defects.
After completion of job, place parts in a container and mark with the appropriate part number and move to the cleaning department with the traveler.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
