Requirements

  • Intermediate blueprint reading knowledge and the ability to follow the work order instructions.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Team player - must be able to work with others assigned to machine.
  • Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals.
  • Adaptable to changing demands.
  • Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift.
  • Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Steel Toe Shoes/Boots.
  • Basic tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.
  • Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available).
  • Entry level experience (training may be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Operating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine etc. in accordance with company procedures.
  • Placing production part into machine, cycling the equipment and retrieving the part.
  • Visually inspecting parts.
  • Setting up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order.
  • Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift.
  • Monitoring machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running.
  • Troubleshooting problems during machine operation.
  • Ensuring stocks/inventory of needed materials and tools are ready and available at all times.
  • Providing relevant information regarding progress to supervisors.
  • Following all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures.
  • Being aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Properly using personal protective equipment when required.
  • Notifying supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part quality.
  • Cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits and lay-outs to meet customer specifications.
  • Maintaining regular attendance – having reliable means of transportation.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned.
