About The Position

The Part-Time Machine Operator I sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. The operator controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and precision in all tasks. The operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must read/write/speak English fluently
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
  • Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools
  • Detail oriented with good time management and organization skills
  • Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes
  • Must be able to stand, stoop and lift to 40-50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years’ industrial experience desired in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.)
  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems desired
  • Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
  • Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
  • Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Can simultaneously operate two or more machines when practical and necessary.
  • Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines.
