About The Position

ANDRITZ is seeking a Machine Operator I to join its Paper Service team in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role operates manual and automated equipment to machine precision components while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. The operator works with manufacturing equipment, follows engineering drawings and production instructions, and inspects finished parts. The role contributes to team production goals and a safety-focused environment emphasizing quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating machines or production equipment.
• Ability to read drawings, follow instructions, and work with tight tolerances.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CNC equipment, manual equipment, router tables, or milling machines.
• Experience with polymer or composite materials, CNC controls, or hand finishing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Operate knee mills, through-feed routers, CNC router tables, and related equipment.
• Machine long components accurately while meeting dimensional specifications.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, indicators, and straightedges.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement, quality standards, and team production goals.
